Centennial of Santa Rosa de Lima
Rosa de Lima was a mentally and spiritually cultivated woman, but largely was grown as a self-taugh scholar, with no higher education. She had not schoolteachers, only confessors and spiritual directors, as it was common in that time. Isabel Flores de Oliva, that's her Christian name, was the firs American woman to be canonized by Roman Church. In a very short space of time (Isabel Flores de Oliva lived 31 years), she offers a heritage of recollectiond and piety.
