Author Guidelines

Works must adhere to the guidelines detailed in the 'Convocatoria 2025' section, without exception. Those that do not comply with the editorial recommendations will be returned for adjustments before being considered by the Editorial Board for review.

The originals must be completed when submitted for publication; no modifications will be allowed unless they are properly justified and authorized by the Editorial Board. Authors are encouraged to carefully read and critically review the text, particularly its writing, syntax, and spelling in names, acronyms, and bibliographic data.

Objectives

The editorial focus of this journal is to promote the development of knowledge in the field of Law, through the dissemination of theoretical, legal, case-based, and methodological material on various legal issues and their practical application. By publishing original academic papers, the goal is to contribute to the reflection and advancement of legal disciplines, fostering an intellectual debate that drives the evolution of the legal field in both academic and professional settings.

 

Copyright Notice

This license grants the right to copy, distribute, display, and publicly perform the work, provided that the authorship is properly acknowledged and the source is cited in the established manner. Commercial use of the original work, as well as the creation of derivative works without the express consent of the author, is expressly prohibited. The authors grant the Revista de Derecho the exclusive right to be the first publication of the work in the academic field.

 

Privacy Statement

The Revista de Derecho de la Universidad de Piura guarantees the protection of the personal data of authors, reviewers, readers, and other system users, in accordance with Law No. 29733 (Peru’s Personal Data Protection Law) and its implementing regulations approved by Supreme Decree No. 003-2013-JUS.

1. Scope
This statement applies to data collected during user registration in the OJS system, manuscript submission and evaluation, the peer review process, and the management of editorial correspondence.

2. Purpose
Names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, and other provided data are used exclusively for the journal's editorial management: communicating with authors and reviewers, organizing the double-blind review process, and disseminating publications. They are not used for commercial purposes nor transferred to third parties outside the editorial process.

3. Confidentiality of the review process
In compliance with the double-blind review system described in these policies, the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation process. The Editorial Board is responsible for removing any identifying information from manuscripts before sending them to external reviewers.

4. Data retention
Contact data is retained as long as the individual maintains an active account in the journal's OJS system or as long as necessary for academic archiving and indexing purposes. Rejected manuscripts and data associated with their evaluation are retained only for the period necessary to ensure the traceability and integrity of the editorial process.

5. Data subject rights
Any registered individual may request that the Editorial Board grant access to, rectify, cancel, or object to the processing of their personal data by writing to the journal's contact email address.

6. Relationship with the editorial ethics policy
This statement complements the journal's policy on Ethics and Good Editorial Practices—which adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Code of Conduct—available in the "About the Journal" section. 7. Use of generative artificial intelligence
Any generative artificial intelligence tool used by the Editorial Board solely for administrative support purposes (e.g., text similarity checking) does not replace human editorial judgment or the final decision regarding the publication of a manuscript, which always rests with the Editorial Board.
