As part of its commitment to the timely dissemination of legal knowledge, the Revista de Derecho of the University of Piura has implemented the Ahead-of-Print publication model.
This initiative aims to make original articles available to the academic and professional community once they have completed the entire editorial process, but before they have been assigned to a specific issue of the journal.
These are works that have: Been peer-reviewed and approved, received endorsement from the Editorial Board, and undergone editing, copyediting, and typesetting processes that ensure the publication’s editorial quality.
On Citation and Final Publication
Ahead-of-Print articles can and should be cited as valid academic publications. Each PDF includes the recommended citation format. However, it is important to note the following:
- Final pagination, volume and issue number, and a permanent URL will be assigned when the article is officially published in a regular issue of the journal.
- Once this occurs, the ahead-of-print version will be automatically updated to reflect this information, while maintaining its validity as an academic reference.

Through this initiative, the Revista de Derecho reaffirms its mission to promote high-quality legal research and its commitment to providing more agile, transparent, and efficient access to scientific knowledge. The Ahead-of-Print model is a tool designed to benefit authors, readers, and researchers, and reflects current standards of best editorial practices in the academic publishing sphere.
